YOUR OFFICE!

Your home office or company office is very important to set up properly. Ideally you need to know what your kua numbers are and ensure you are facing your success directions, but here are a few simple tips to get you on your way!

1.Your desk should face the power position (so that you can see the door) if you can't face this then make sure you position a mirror on your desk that reflects the door so that you can see who enters at all times

2.It is best to have a solid wall behind your back - no window - if you do have a window keep the blinds closed if you can

3.Do not pile files in front of you - put them away neatly

4.Place a picture of a mountain behind you for added support

5.The south wall is a good place to display diplomas and awards

6.The SE is your wealth corner - activate it a water image

7.Keep your workspace clutter free!

8.Do not have exposed shelves directly behind you - keep them off to one side

Don't forget that with each change you make you must do it with intention and be very clear what you want. Wanting a new job may not be clear enough and if may be one that you dislike. Wanting a specific new job or a specific new career will bring you the results you want!

Feng Shui - Front Door Colors

The front door is considered "the mouth of chi" in feng shui, which means it is the mouth of energy, or the source that infuses all the other parts of your house with good things. Because the front door is so important, it is the best place to start if you want to get rapid results from your feng shui improvements. And of all the improvements you can make to a front entrance, the most dramatic one is to paint your front door the right color. Here is how to choose what that color should be.

What Determines Door Color

What color you should paint your door depends primarily on which direction it points. Some directions are better for entrances than others, so while painting your door the right color will help, with some directions you are going to need some "feng shui extra credit" to really get your entrance humming with good energy.

Feng Shui - Front Door Colors

The second most important requirement is to pick a color that will bring the sort of change you want in your life. Finally, no matter what the feng shui rules say, your door color should be a color that is pleasing to you. If your door meets all the feng shui guidelines, but every time you walk up to it you frown, then your attitude and your energy will be bad. The idea is to pick a color that is the best possible compromise between all three goals.

The Ideal Colors by Direction

North facing doors are not auspicious in feng shui. They need all the "umph" they can get, so a red door is best. Add brighter lights and shiny metal details to get the extra boost you need. Make sure the path to the door is as wide and obvious as possible.

North-West facing doors benefit from the leadership and organization "father" energy of the North-West direction. Good colors here are red, black or grey. Use shiny metal fittings to emphasize the metal energy coming from the West.

West facing doors can also be black, grey and red, and should have the same metal fittings as North and North-West facing doors. This direction is good if you crave romance or to increase your income.

By the time we reach the South-West direction, the energy has changed, but the best door colors are still black, grey and red. Rustier, earth-toned reds would work well here. If you tend to be anxious or feel any kind of instability in your life put out a bowl of sea salt near the door to keep you grounded.

South facing doors are high-energy, good for getting attention, but sometimes so active that they lead to arguments and conflict. If things are feeling a little too intense, putting out a bowl of charcoal by the door will cool things down, as will painting the door black. Good colors for South facing doors include any shade of green, blue or purple.

South-East doors are very good for communication and steady progress. Paint them dark green, cream or blue and use low-gloss or wooden fittings.

If you are young or upwardly mobile, you want an East-facing door. This direction is especially good for launching a new career or a new business. Paint your door bright green or cream to maximize the effect and use low-gloss or wood for your doorknob and knocker.

North-East, unfortunately, is not at all a good direction for an entrance. It can even lead to health problems if you are not shielded. The energy from this direction is generally unstable and sharp, so you want to repel it by painting your front door white with a high-gloss paint. Metal details at the entrance will help, as will bushy landscaping plants and putting a bowl of sea salt just inside the door to quell the piercing energy.

Feng Shui, the Mountain Dragon

Importance of Mountain Dragon

In Feng Shui, there is a saying - Mountain govern Man, Water govern Wealth

Wealth obviously refers to money and assets. Man refers to you; the health, wisdom, emotions, and human relationship of one's. In simple, mountain refers to people luck while water, wealth luck.

Now, what is so important about mountain? To start off, we have to first understand the very relationship between mountain and water.

Feng Shui, the Mountain Dragon

We have always mentioned that true Feng Shui is about the influences of "Qi" (metaphysical forces of nature), how the "Qi" in your residing environment actually affect you.

Surely the question to be asking, where does "Qi" come from? And to answer you, mountain is the source of all these "Qi".

It has always been misunderstood by many and even some Feng Shui practitioner that "Qi" is produced by water. Or perhaps this is human nature. Everyone greed after wealth, choosing to just incorrectly believe so. Afterall, water brings about wealth (wealth luck)

We have seen many cases, especially with self-taught practitioner. Some are in fact very good with locating wealth corner (water location). But it is a pity that when it comes to mountain location, they hardly have the knowledge.

You have to understand this. All around us, the planet is constantly changing and growing. Mighty mountains are formed by the magnetic pull of these planetary changes, generating "Qi" that affect our lives. And these "Qi" are carried and dispersed by the wind and preserved in the water into our environment. This is the law of Nature.

To take note, water is just a medium to help gather and distribute these "Qi". When there is no mountain, there is no presence of any "Qi". So what's the point of having water when there is no "Qi" present to be gathered? Nice to look at but of no use to be having. No point cheating yourself or worse, being misled by some inexpert. Without the presence of "Qi", the Feng Shui formation is just not going to work.

Think about it. Now, isn't mountain a more important factor to consider?

We have seen also cases of many going just directly into the interior of the house, neglecting details of the external environment, the very external influences. Remember, true Feng Shui is never an interior decoration.

To get the best out of Feng Shui, both mountain and water locations are equally important.A good Feng Shui master should have the expertise in both, capable of identifying good mountain in the environment; able to cleverly combine both to bring about a well-balanced Feng Shui formation for you. In Feng Shui, a balance is always sought (Yin & Yang)

What make a good mountain anyway?

In general, mountain can be of 5 types (Earth, Wood, Metal, Fire and Water) bringing about different influences. E.g. Earth mountain aid wealth and prosperity, fruitfulness offspring. Wood mountain aid fame and academic.

In general, a timely and good mountain looks green. This resembles a healthy and happy dragon, which will bring you good health and fortunes. A brown and dry one resembles a sick and angry dragon that would bring bad health and misfortunes.

Now, there is definitely nothing wrong with wanting wealth, who doesn't want it? But just ask yourself this simple question, who is the one who want it? Surely it is you, the very man?

Without good health, wisdom and the correct attitude, how are you possibly going to achieve wealth? What is the use of having lots of wealth when you don't have the health to enjoy it?

Picture it this way. Water is always flowing (Yin). Yes, it may bring you wealth with plentiful of riches flowing in. But without a mighty mountain (Yang) to cleverly stop and control the water, your wealth is just going to keep flowing away.

In life, a balance is always to be sought (Yin & Yang) remember, when you can earn a lot, you can also spend a lot. When you can be in good health, you can also be in ill health. Without a balance, you can be earning k and spending K. Now isn't that instead going to bring more problem & difficulty to your life in the long run? Worst, without a good health?

Understand the true of Feng Shui, seek the correct way of life.

The Money Tree Plant

According to the legend of the money tree plant, a poor, hard working old farmer one day came across an unusual plant in the fields. Since he'd never seen anything like it before, he decided to dig it up. The little tree was difficult to uproot, but he managed to bring it home. At home, he found that the tree was resilient and grew without much care. He decided to take a lesson from the plant, and decided to be stubborn, resilient, and not to give up on the things he worked for. Soon, he became a great entrepreneur.

The Real Story of the Money Tree Plant

The real story behind the braided money tree is not quite as romantic, but no less fascinating. The story goes back to the 1980's. During a typhoon, a truck driver in Taiwan was unable to drive his truck. So, he stayed home and helped his wife braid hair in her beauty salon. The thought struck him--why not braid a few money tree plants together? He took five plants and made a shape out of them. They were an instant hit, immensely popular throughout Asia. Today, the braided money tree plant has become one of the world's most popular houseplants.

The Money Tree Plant

Pachira aquatica or money tree

Pachira aquatica or money tree refers to the tropical wetland tree, which is a native to Central and South America and it grows in swamps in these places. The popular names of this plant are provision tree, Guiana chestnut, Malabar chestnut as well as Saba nut.

This plant can reach up to a height of 18 m (59.1 ft) in the wild areas. It is comprised of palmate leaves, which are shiny green as well as lanceolate leaflets and green bark. Its flowers tends to be very showy and includes long and narrow petals which while opening resembles a banana peel to make a display of hairlike yellowish orange stamens. The cultivation of Money tree is done for getting edible nuts that can be grown in big and woody pod. The nuts are generally light brown in color as accompanied with white stripes.

Their tastes are like that of peanuts and are possible to consume in raw or cooked form. It can also be grounded for the formation of bread. It is possible to eat its leaves and flowers also. It grows nicely in the form of a tropical ornamental in areas that are moist as well as free of frost. Money tree has greater durability and is able to adapt in an excellent manner in all the various conditions.

It requires large amount of sunlight but exposure to direct sunlight is harmful for it in the summer months because the leaves tends to get sun burnt. "Money tree" term for this plant is used mostly in East Asia. It is used in the form of ornaments in Japan. This plant is a symbol of good fortune and in the field of finance is seen most commonly in business houses with red ribbons or other kinds of ornamentation.

Feng Shui

The plant has significance to followers of feng shui. Its five leaves symbolize the five elements of feng shui: wood, water, earth, fire, and metal. Some say that if the plant is placed near places where money is kept (or where wealth is needed), prosperity and wealth will follow. The plant is referred to in Asian cultures as "Bringer of Good Fortune", particularly when given as a gift. A new proverb even arose to describe the intertwining trees: "The five fortunes come home, richer at each juncture."

Genetically Modified Feng Shui

When I first started consulting in 1992, the only controversial discussions seemed to be about so-called traditional Feng Shui versus the New Age inventions, such as the BTB School which flourished in the 1990's and with headquarters in Berkeley, California. And if I can begin with my metaphor, it has been pretty hard to top the BTB School for the "most-genetically modified" rendition of this greatly misunderstood metaphysical practice.

Why would the BTB School hold such honors? Well, in part because the very foundation of Feng Shui rests in laws of time and space, which the BTB School does not utilize in a property evaluation. For example, the BTB practitioner will put the same newly created template over every single floor plan, regardless of when the structure was built or what direction it is actually facing. The back left hand corner of every single structure is misnamed a "wealth corner." This is on par with an astrologer saying they do not need to have a birth date or a birth place to establish a personal chart and instead just rely on "intuition" or something too generic to be accurate. Intuition is a great thing to have and to use, but it is not an essential ingredient in a proper analysis.

In the last twenty years, another genetically modified version of Feng Shui gained momentum and that is the Southern Hemisphere School. The Southern Hemisphere School was created by an Australian gentleman who made radical changes to traditional theories and applications to suit, what he believes, are major differences in the Southern Hemisphere. Meanwhile, none of these radical changes were necessary because the fundamental principles of this natural earth science address the relationship of our entire planet with the Sun (and solar system.) To imply that we need a flipped approach in the Southern Hemisphere is to misinterpret the real purpose of the luo-shu, the compass and the fact that all hemispheres (which are man-made distinctions) answer to the same north and south poles.

Genetically Modified Feng Shui

Another GMO practice in our industry which has misled many sincere practitioners is the Move-In Theory, also known as the Date of Occupancy doctrine. This school advocates calculating a house or building based on when the occupants move in, as opposed to the time-tested ancient practice of calculating the magnetic field based on when the structure was built. The Date of Occupancy doctrine also ignores the vast powers of the universe which go into creating the magnetic field of a structure and instead assumes that a person moving in can change these energies as easily as flipping on a light switch. I was also informed that there are some other misguided off-shoots of this practice, such as calculating a flying star chart for a house based on when the new occupants sign the lease or purchase the property. In the realm of astrology, these can be influential dates, but they do not change the magnetic field of a house.

Some of the most cleverly disguised false notions are hidden within the long enduring and respected Ba Zhai School, also known as the Eight Mansion School, which has been genetically modified at a level that even scholarly and world renowned masters have not been able to detect or are willing to divulge. All the other schools mentioned in this article were developed most likely with sincerity and conviction by their creators, but the Ba Zhai School was actually created by the historically noteworthy astronomer and monk Yi Xing, under strict mandate and meddling by the Chinese Emperor who ordered the corrupted version to be disseminated to the Mongol Empire. This simplified school formulated in the 8th century has some intentionally altered aspects to it that have not been discussed openly or widely within the global classical Feng Shui community.

To be brief, there were some political reasons why accurate teachings were tampered with and the long term goal was successfully executed, by making it hard to believe or decipher the errors.

This article only scratches the surface in discussing some of the controversies which exist in our field and serious practitioners need to agree to have a mature discussion about these issues. Feng Shui has the potential to be very powerful and alter people's lives for the better, so we need to keep the information pure and undiluted. We need to discard the miscellaneous practices which deviate seriously from authentic principles and applications. The problem is that, as marketing gimmicks, many teachers have sold their students on the implied superiority of their curriculum over other schools. And if you don't study with Master So-and-So, you will miss out on the greatest secrets of all!

This does not mean that there is no more room for discovery or fine-tuning; to the contrary. We can continue to observe and further expand our knowledge, but we first need to address some of the questionable theories and practices that have cropped up in the last few decades. They have not been tested long enough to garner so much confidence in their use and some theories are based on faulty logic. As well, some older methods should not be above further scrutiny when we better understand them in a historical context or compare them to what we know now from current science.
